Hi Folks,
Just joined. Using mostly Slackware, from 4.0 through 7.1, 9.1 to 10.2, and some slim distros based on 4 nd 7.
Having a real struggle trying to get Slackware 4 to come to grips with a Gigabyte MB (K8 Triton GA-K8NF-9) with onboard sound and ethernet.
Anybody else been in the same situation ?
Regards,

Hi and welcome to LQ!
Please make your titles on your threads related to your problem.
What exactly do you mean by come to grips? Do you get an error, or what?

Getting on-board sound and ethernet card activated with SW 4
I have this new machine which runs out of the box under
Slackware 10.2 - Wonderful !
One of my favourite distros is based on SW 4.
I have managed to install this onto a partition on the first
SATA drive, but I have not been able to find out which mods I
need to get a) the on-board sound up and running, and
b) the on-board ethernet card initialised so it will talk to
my other main machine.
I am not even sure how to get either of these on-board
facilities identified.
I WILL make it happen, but some pointing in the right
direction would be really appreciated.
