new machine:IBM RISC 6000 3CT

I volunteered to clean out the eqpt room and now have a couple 1994 RISC machines with ~300MB RAM and internal wide-scsi and wonder if anybody has any experience trying to make a linux firewall out of something similar? The slots aren't PCI, I don't know what they are... Can anybody recommend a modern-speed LAN card that might be good for builidng up a router? I wonder if these will be good for anything other than the ultra-quiet case fans?

Let me know if you have any ideas...

Thx - BP

Check out the IBM support site:

There should be a small label on the case(s) with a four digit machine type number, a -, and three trailing numbers. You can search on that number on the support site to get all of the specs on the machine. That should help you pick out cards and other parts.
