Thanks for the f/u. Would it be doing a whole new kernel compile, or just compiling the wireless kernel module (the former I haven't done since my Caldera Linux days 15 years ago when turning a computer into a router before Linksys/Netgear, etc came along, the latter wouldn't be that big of a deal other than the fact that I haven't been able to find the drivers -- and the fact that it is a Richard Stallman-hated binary blob from Atheros).

Actually if cfg80211, nl80211 and mac80211 aren't compiled in, then recompiling wireless stack would be enough (just turn stack debugging and driver debugging on).
