Networked Sound
Hi!
Here is my network: media - connected to stereo, headless, SuSe linux 9.2 7up/pepsi - running Linux Suse 9.2/Windows xp, no speakers connected sprite - running Windows XP coke - running knoppix 3.3 off a CD as the HD is dead. server - running suse 9.0, headless. I have all my music on media, is it possible to have all the computers redirect there sound to media's sound card? I doubt I can export /dev/sound0 to NFS. How can I have it so that coke, 7up/pepsi and sprite all play there music to media? ( 7up when running linux, pepsi when running windows.) Creative names, eh ? The sound would be transfered across the network to the sound card of media. Is this possible without a setup that is far too complicated? THanks, David |
esd is network aware, though I've not set it up like that. I believe VLC is also designed to stream things like this, though I've not had to do that either.
