Question Network problem

I have a firewall with 2 eth cards. The firewall connect to the internet with a gateway & dns adress to a server. Then I have a computer behind the firewall. It goes a twisted TP between them.

I have configurate the ip adresses in /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.

When I type "ifconfig" I get ip adresses on both cards. I can ping the server but not the computer behind the firewall. What can be wrong?

I run slackware 8.1.

1) Are the cards identical?

2) Are you using DHCP or static IP's for the lan?

3) Does your ISP use DHCP?

4) Can you ping anything on the net from the gateway?
