Network Printer works, but Mint can't find the scanner. Epson 6100/

I hope this is the correct forum to pot this.

I have an Epson 6100 printer/scanner on my home wireless network. I installed Mint on my Lenovo 710s and all seems to be well. Mint automatically found the 6100 and I can print from it. However, Document Scanner says no scanner found. I'm not sure how to have mint find the scanner. Is it a driver issue, a network issue? I'm new to Linux so not sure where to start.

Normally Epson has drivers to download and install for their printer models. I have done a few for friends using Linux Mint. Most of the time there are 2 drivers one for printer and one for the scanner. I suggest removing the printer that was installed before you install the drivers below.
