Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Network interface card compatibility..

I have attempting to setup a centOs based server (SME 7.2) and have run into some difficulties with NIC card compatibility. I'm seeking information on NIC card compatibility for this unit.
Thanks

I tried to use a linksys 10/100 PCI Fast Ethernet card and a Netgear GA311 NIC card; both of which were recognized within their chipset yet I never got a connection out to the net. I had it set behind another server but all other computers looking for a dhcp address get one without issue and connect just as fine. Are there tried and tru RedHat compliant nic cards that I can specifically seek? (this is probably known knowledge but CentOs is based off of RedHat)Everything else works fine.. Thanks for the prompt response....

RHEL HCL https://hardware.redhat.com/
Their list is for 'certified hardware', They probably charge the hardware vendor a certification fee to get on the list.
RHEL and in turn CentOS should support far more hardware than is probably in that list

I would think either of the cards you have tried should work.. I don't think your issue is the NIC.
