Network Card won't activate in RH 8.0

I'm on my roommate's computer. I got fed up with my XP pro getting fucked up for no reason, so I gave up and have gone over to linux. I've got many hurdles to clear with it till I can get it working as I need it.

First and foremost is my network card. I had an onboard network card, but was informed by a friend that those are a bitch to get set up. So, I disbabled it, and plugged in my Realtek RTL-8139, SMC EZ card. Upon rebooting, it was found and then configured as I deemed it would need to be. I set up the DNS and IP obtaining and so on. I'm not sure which IRQ it is, and that is left at unknown. I know that no IRQ conflicts exist since it everything loaded up fine.

If anyone can give me any help involving getting this set up, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm using RH 8.0 at the moment. I'm probably going to jump over to RH 9 when I get a chance. I've got some other stuff I need to download so that I can get my NTFS HDD recognized. I hear wine may possibly due that, if not, I can get it backed up in a week or so.

If anyone knows what my current problem is with my RealTek card and RH 8.0, please respond. I'm new to all of this, so don't expect me to understand everything at first.

Thanks in advance
