network card configuration


hi
i need to configure my network card for a local network, and a private ip.
where can i set up this info, or how can i reinstall my network card

i really donīt know how to see its status

thanks for your help

Use Mandrake control center under networking to configure card for static IP address. Like 192.168.1.1 netmask of 255.255.255.0 as one example.

In a console window use the following command:
/sbin/ifconfig -a
