Unhappy need urgent help wid ma graphic card


Hey!! um a newbie...using red hat linux 9....um havin some driver problem with my GeForce Fx 5200...well my system doesnt automatically picks tha graphic card....but anyway i followed one of the tutorial on this site by holy liaision......I used vi editor to edit the XF86Config file but when i edit it and try to save it by ':w!' it says 'E212:cannot open XF86Config for writing' what's the problem....2ndly i used the latest linux driver from nvidia nd when i run it using 'sh NVIDIA-x86-.........' a splash screen appears saying 'nvidia installer can only be run in root mode' ....please help me coz without ma graphic drivers the linux doesn even boot into Gnome desktop....

First. Try not to use urgent in header.
Second. Try editing XF86Config as root, not as user. For this read man su.
