Need to swap Raid card, Mylex 150 to Adaptec 2100s

I haven't been able to get Redhat9 Raid5 drives to boot from an Adaptec 2100s. System was built using an Mylex 150 (DAC960.o) I thought I was on the right track by editing /etc/modules.conf, but it didn't work. Still loads the dac960 module.
What I did was I booted disk 1, launched 'linux rescue', and edited /etc/modules.conf
Seemed like it should have worked. Anyone have some ideas?

if you changed raid cards that contain the boot partition you will need to create a new initrd that contains the module needed for the new card.

Thank you for your response. I don't know how to create a new initrd, but I'll do some research. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
