need to know about printer

i got a epson stylus color 777 i want to use with jamd 006.
will this work?
i have the usb and parallel cables, which should i use?
i also have the driver cd, but it only has support for windows, and mac.

i want to make sure its compatible before i go hunting linux drivers, etc.

if my printer is compatible, anyone suggest where to get drivers, and maybe a gui for printer config? i guess im a little lazy, dont really want to have to use command line to configure, but if i must, i will.

this is an older computer i use mainly for typing up school reports, sending e-mails, chating, etc. i usually just type out report, and email to another account that i access from another somputer that has a printer.
that is very tiresome, and i was hoping i could use this printer.

thanks in advance.

Try linuxprinting.org. It has a list of compatible printers, and which driver to use. CUPS supports many printers, and has a GUI
