Need sound from my Fedora 14 install with Creative Soundblaster 5.1 Live card

I install a copy from an iso of Fedora 14 on a old Dell Computer with some upgrades not prepriatary hardware. One of the hardware problems I am having is getting my Creative Soundblaster 5.1 Live card to work with Fedora 14. I have been looking for a driver and as of yet have not found one that works well. Do you have any suggestions regarding this so I can do some site development on this machine.

Hi exousia, Welcome to LQ. Open a terminal and please post the output from the following:

Code:
# lspci -v | grep Audio
# lsmod | grep snd
# cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#*
# cat /proc/asound/version
Good luck. ;-)

Have you tried installing the Pulse Audio driver system?

Hello Peacedog and Ravelolution

I will take your advise one at a time for sure. It sure would be great when Linux does not have to struggle with drivers anymore.

I am looking forward to learning all that I have to so I can bringing Linux out in the open. We are opening a private label computer company later in the year here and we'll be using Linux, Unix and MacIntosh to spread the word. No Contracts with Microsoft !!.
