need help with new sound card!


i am trying to get my Audigy 2. one of my friend said that i need to re-build my kernel. i just want to know how to do it. i would try on my one but if i mess up i a screwed!!!!

I've just taken a look at the kernel source for the kernel that comes with Mandrake and it already has support for the Audigy - and if I remember correctly, the A2 actually uses the same core chip. Try, as root, typing modprobe audigy and then play some file. Also, ensure your volumes are set up. Many distros mute by default. I know it sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised how many people get caught out by this!
