Question Need help with my monitor shutting off in Fedora Core.

Once I log into Linux my monitor automatically shuts off after about 3 minutes of inactivity. I tried changing the setting through the gui but no luck.

How can I change the monitor settings through the shell prompt so they don't shut off my monitor after such a short amount of inactivity?

Someone please help!?!
