Trying to upload pictures from Olympus SP-510 camera to computer running Suse 10.2.
I hooked up to USB port and turned camera on in view mode. Window popped up -> USB Mass Storage Interface - KDE Mode. New medium detected. Medium type camera.
I chose to open in DigiKam. Selected auto to detect camera. Digikam says - Images found in camera://Olympus X-450@[usb:002.005]/. (Camera actually is a SP-510UZ). But then Digikam fails to connect to camera, so obviously photos can't be transferred.
The SP-510 is not a listed camera in Digicam, but possibly it's compatible with the X-450 that Digicam found??? Is there any point in pursuing this or should I just buy a card reader?
Well, after window pops, select open and you'll be able to access your photos, if I am correct.
Digikam doesn't give or wait for any option. It immediately starts looking and then puts out an error message. This time it said - "Failed to list files in /" not "Fails to connect with camera."
