Then you are advised to try something that isn't crap. Have you tried madwifi?
http://madwifi.org/users-guide/

Basically, it is not worth my while suggesting stuff if you have already tried it. If you won't tell me what you have tried, then is it worth my while suggesting anything?

... if you are not prepared to use such routine sentence furniture as punctuation and capitalization, why would you expect anyone to be bothered to help you? You didn't even write in the url of the post you are trying to draw attention to.

Oh what the hey... I'll go look...
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...93#post2895693
... you have received a great deal of useful help in that thread only six hours after you started it, and that was the day before you posted this one.

You have another thread at:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...38#post2896738
... which also received a reply in six hours. You're doing well.

Hey,

First of all, if you're new to linux, i recommend sacking off Fedora and using Ubuntu. Easier, more things are supported "out of the box" and less bloated.

If you do chose to stick with Fedora (and linux as a whole), don't expect things to just work.... Especially wireless. A quick google however (which you should always turn to first), has shown me that your wireless card works out of the box on Ubuntu.

Secondly, get an ethernet cable and plug into your router and update all your software. Linux is really hard to get going without a working internet connection.

Thirdly, don't just expect people to help. Linux is not Windows. Things will not just work. Put some personnel effort in first of all, and if you expect people to give supportive comments, at least write a good post....

In ubuntu, the madwifi stuff is included as "restricted drivers". For fedora:
http://fedoramobile.org/fc-wireless/madwifi-yum-livna/

... enable the livna repo and

su -c yum install madwifi

Requires an existing internet connection... this is easy, the machine has a wired ethernet port, there is an internet cafe within reach. IME, most internet cafes are quite happy to have you plug into their network, they are cheap, and fast, and you need only do it once.

I think that's as far as I will go for someone who gets "desperate" when it takes six hours to get a reply. Such people need to read the long advise in my sig.
