need help installing second harddrive
i am trrying to install a seond harddrive on redhat8 can someone please assist me?
at first i installed the second harddrive and tried to boot the system backup but it said to insert a boot disk.
what am i doing wrong?

Erm:
1. Plug cable into second harddrive.
2. There is no 2. Well, maybe formatting the drive, but that depends on what you want to use it for.
Check your bios is trying to boot off the correct disk.

ok now after that what commands do i use to create a new partition and a new linux filesystem

To create partitions use fdisk or cfdisk. Need to be root.
To create an ext2 filesystem
mke2fs /dev/hdxy where xy is the drive id and partition that you created using fdisk.
See man pages on fdisk and mke2fs.

Of course, Mandrake9 has a nice DiskDrake graphical frontend to help with this, and with setting up mounting.
