Question Need Help For Zstar Webcam


HI THERE, I HAVE SUSE 10.2 AND I CAN GET MY WEB CAM WORKIN

after lsusb
the system show this
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0ac8:301b Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. ZC0301 WebCam


can anyone guide me to activate this cam

http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdev.php?id=3283 says spca50x driver (deprecated) gspca (apparently new) or the successor, the SONIC one, (can't remember either the name or the URI right now, maybe search the LQ HCL or LQ).

i installed some driver, but after that when i do dmesg this comes,,, what to do now
where to chk if its workin as photo software doesnt show any cam yet
but the lights o n the cam are on

usbcore: deregistering driver zc0301
zc0301: V4L2 driver for ZC0301[P] Image Processor and Control Chip v1:1.05
usb 1-2: ZC0301[P] Image Processor and Control Chip detected (vid/pid 0x0AC8/0x301B)
usb 1-2: No supported image sensor detected
usbcore: registered new driver zc0301

What driver? From where?


photo software doesnt show any cam yet but the lights o n the cam are on
What software? What are the exact error messages (if any) when you load the application?

In any case do visit here http://www.linux-projects.org/module...id=254&forum=5 since it looks like the drivers originate there. The "Plus" version (that's yours, I think) isn't supported (yet). Apparently the author can fix it if you care to send a donation?
