Need help for ALSA Sound /etc/asound.conf or .asoundrc

This is my /etc/asound.conf taken exactly as below:

### /etc/asound.conf for nforce2 apu (analog out, from

pcm.!default {
type plug
slave.pcm "nforce"

pcm.nforce {
type dmix
ipc_key 1024
slave {
pcm "hw:0,0"
period_time 0
period_size 1024
buffer_size 4096
rate 48000

and XINE DVD Player is able to direct sound to my Optical SPDIF to external amp, but NOT to my 2 Front Stereo Speakers. Weird enough, the GNOME-CD Player is able to produce sound on my 2 Front speakers but NOT to the Optical SPDIF to the external amp.

All things in /etc/modules.conf look just fine as mentioned in many threads in here.

I ran xine-check and every thing is noted as [good].

I have Win2K dual boot and it works justf fine.

This is my system:

FC2, ALSA 1.05
Gigabyte Nforce2 Pro2 Rev2

Thanks a lot.

Vive la Linux (!)
