Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Angry Need help finding memory for ASUS PRIME B450M-A/CSM AM4 AMD B450 Seiies 2000 MB

I downloaded the QVL memory list from ASUS & cannot seem to find venders that are selling dual channel 2*4 or 2*8 DDR4 memory as shown on the QVL.

The G.skill F4-3200C16D-16GTZR appears on the QVL but the best vender match I could find was F4-3200C16D-16GIS. Would F4-3200C16D-CIS be OK?

If anyone is running a RYZEN2 0r RYZEN3 MB, what memory are you using? I haven't purchased this MB yet. I'm just getting ready for my next build. Some people say any DDR4 menory will work for a home desktop (non-gamer) user like me. I use the Fedora-31 KDE Spin OS, if that makes any difference.

Thanks for reading this post --Stan

I used GeIL EVO Spear AMD Edition DDR-3200 (2*8GB kit) on a Gigabyte B450 board. It wasn't on the QVL, but worked great.

Most likely. I think it's a more recent kit, so it probably came out after the mobo (and its QVL).

Part numbers in QVL lists tend to disappear from the marketplace in short order after those lists are published. They contain what the manufacturers were able to test, nowhere near everything on the market at publication time, and certainly little if anything later appearing. Anything that really is DDR4-3200 should work on any board that supports DDR4-3200. Note that the RAM module specification is a speed limit, not an exclusive. Faster RAM can work at a lower speed supported by the motherboard.
