need help configuring linux on my iPAQ 3600 PDA

Hello all,

Well, I'm taking the plunge and (trying) installing linux on my iPAQ 3600 series PDA, but the directions on handhelds.org mention that I need to use a serial cable/cradle to actually load the distro.

Now, I'm thinking that I should be able to treat the USB port (ttyUSB0?) as a serial port for purposes of terming into it in linux (since my iPAQ doesn't have a serial cable/cradle).

Does this seem whacked or should/could it work? I haven't actually tried it yet, but I did notice a kernel module for serial emulation in USB or something like that...

As always...TIA for the assistance

aus
