need help choosing a motherboard and graphics card

Hello,I have been a mac guy my whole life and I have never owned a x86 pc.I am looking to take the plunge into the x86 world.I need some help choosing a amd compatible motherboard and a graphics card,it needs to be socket 939 and have pci express.I only have about 250-350 bucks to spend on the motherboard, ram and processor(graphics card will come later).I was looking at this list on newegg and there are so many to choose from,I'm lost. What are some good motherboard brands?Whats the best chipset?I really have no idea which ones are good.Anyone have any recomendations? Thanks for the help.
Derek

Nforce4 is probably the pick chipset for linux right now I would guess, tho I'm still opn nforce3... Nvidia graphics as well... like a 6600GT for games, or a 6600/6200/5200 for budget... AMD 64 939 of course...

Thanks for the input. After looking around on newegg I have narrowed it down to these nine motherboards.Out of those 9,which one would you pick?
Thanks,
Dirk.

My pic from those would possibly be the EPoX EP-9NPAJ as it has sata and the 8 channel sound (which means you can easily rig 5.1 plus a mic

Also has a nice range of slots. No raid, but then I would use linux software raid if anything.

But they are all probably good and it just depends on what features you want...
