After RH9 Redhat split into two forks. The first fork was the free Fedore Core (later just Fedora). The second fork was RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) which charges for upgrades and support. Unfortunately Fedora(currently F9) now only has support for about one year, after that there are no official updates of any kind. RHEL has support for at least five years. Fortunately there is Centos. Centos is RHEL with the logos removed. It is free to download and update. Centos is binary compatible with RHEL and has the same support life. The current version of RHEL/Centos is 5.2.
