Need Help Adding Fiber Channel Disk to Red Hat 7.3
I have attached a Fibre Channel Disk array to a Dell Poweredge 4600 server that I am trying to install red hat 7.3 on. The disk array was previously installed on a Sun Ultra 60 that was running Solaris 9. When I am going through the Operating System installation I reach the disk partioning stage. When I attempt to begin the partitioning I receive this error: "The sun-ufs system code doesn't support disk labels". And I'm given the option to either Ignore or Cancel. No matter which you push you are then presented with this dialog box:
"The partition table on device /dev/sda is of an unexpected type for your architecture. To use this disk for installation of Red Hat Linux, it must be re-initialized causing the loss of ALL DATA on this drive.
Would you like to initialize this drive?"
Since I do not mind if I lose the information, I clicked Yes.
At that point the machine hangs, and redisplays the first dialog box regarding the sun ufs system.
Can some one please tell me what I need to do to get this Fibre Channel drive to work with this Red Hat installation?
Thanks.
