Need Help!!

Hi
I am new linux user. I am using CENTOS 6.2 os in one of my server and it is working fine. the system has 1TB HDD. But it is showing the root partition space is already 88% used. My output of df -h command is:

[root@localhost]#df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_root
50G 41G 5.8G 88% /
tmpfs 1.9G 88K 1.9G 1% /dev/shm
/dev/sda1 485M 37M 424M 8% /boot
/dev/mapper/VolGroup-lv_home
862G 27G 791G 4% /home

I have installed the os by default linux partition.
Please tell me how to add free space from VolGroup-lv_home to VolGroup-lv_root
Its URGENT....

Welcome to LQ.

Two things before dealing with your actual question:
- Use a more descriptive thread title. Most, if not all people posting a question need help.
- These issue's are not urgent for us. We are all volunteers here.

About your question:
