Well, for years I had winXp and mandrake linux setup on different partitions, always worked great, even for my friends. Suddenly, doesnt work. In fact, seems like hard drive gets corrupted, master boot record or boot partition broken, I dont know. Anyway, I had just Linux for a long time, no worrys. Then Doom 3 came out. Ah shit!! need windows installed. So I set Winxp up on another hard drive, kinda cobbled it together, just for now to play doom 3. Anyway, I have linux drive as a master on primary controller, with cd-rom slaved to it. I have Winxp hard drive set as master on secondary controller. Dont laugh, but for now, when I want to boot windows, I just unplug the Linux hard drive. But...Getting dual boot would be much more convinient
.....Anyway....I tried what you suggested, and now instead on loading WinXp, pc reboots : /
Here's my fstab if this helps?
Code:
/dev/hdc1 / ext3 noatime 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
/dev/hdd5 /home/scrag/WIN_D vfat defaults 0 0
/dev/hdd1 /home/scrag/WinXP ntfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hdb /mnt/cdrom auto umask=0,user,codepage=850,iocharset=iso8859-1,noauto,ro,exec 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /mnt/hd supermount dev=/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/part1,fs=ext2:vfat,--,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1,kudzu,codepage=850 0 0
Any other thoughts??
Thanks Again!!
