Need assistance installing WiFi card Archer TX3000E in Linux Mint 17

Trying to install this TP-Link WiFi 6 AX3000 PCIe Card (Archer TX3000E)
in this PC -- motherboard msi fm2-a75ma-e35, cpu AMD A6-5400K with Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon.

Partspicker confirms compatibility of that hardware -- https://pcpartpicker.com/products/wi...le_with=Pm9KHx

According to my research, the card's chip is Intel AX200 and should work in Linux - https://techsphinx.com/linux/pcie-wifi-cards-for-linux/ and maybe even out of the box.

It is physically installed on the mobo. The card came without a promised driver CD, but supposedly I can download one from a support site.
The system driver manager does not show anything relative.
The PC is a spare used for printing, photo, etc and is not internet connected, but I have one that is.

My router is Netgear R6080 and I have a wifi network currently established (security cameras)

I could use some help with how to proceed step by step, please. Basically, I put in the card and now what?

Thanks in advance.

The wireless adapter requires at least a kernel version 5.10. Since 17 has reached EOL you might want to consider upgrading.

Thank you!

Here is my LM 17:

$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.13.0-170-generic (buildd@lcy01-amd64-001) (gcc version 4.8.4 (Ubuntu 4.8.4-2ubuntu1~14.04.4) ) #220-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 9 12:40:49 UTC 2019

From above, is my current kernel insufficient for the adapter? If good enough, I really would like to keep it as is and be able to access - very rarely - the internet for a bit of info here and there so I do not have to run to my internet capable PC for that.

If not, I can easily install a newer version of Mint on another ssd. If I do that, what would be the way to proceed with the card installation? The individual steps?

Yes. Once you install the latest version you should be able to install the driver by just running:

sudo apt install firmware-iwlwifi

Very well, I'll try that with Mint 20.3 and see. Oops - not 5.10... Will try LM 21 then.

Thank you for responding.

My mistake - LM 20.3 should be good to go.

I replied similar to michaelk, so decided to erase my post and stay out the discussion so as not to potentially cause confusion. Hope it all goes well. nm was my short-hand for "never mind"
