I'm planning to buy soon an ASUS F3TC AP095 notebook and before I could do this, I'd like you to ask about whetter this machine would be completely compatible with Ubuntu 7.10 or not?
It does not matter what Linux distribution that you use. It matters what kernel version and the hardware. It is hard to say what hardware will work with out knowing the model and brand of each hardware in that notebook computer. ASUS tends to use Marvell/Yukon NIC. Marvell/Yukon NIC do not work well in Linux and uses a little more processor resources from what I am seeing from benchmarks. Realtek and Broadcom NIC works in Linux.
