need a sound card recommendation
 

I would like to get a sound card that works in Linux and can record sounds off non-commercial DVDs. (I've never owned an external sound card on one of my computers, don't know that much about them, and don't even know if being able to record sound is a standard feature of all sound cards.) I want to keep the price at US$50 or less. I'm looking in the HCL, but it helps only so much (and is really more useful in situations where you have a specific piece of hardware and want to know how it works in Linux). May I have recommendations? I'll list my computer's specifications as soon as someone reminds me which ones are relevant.

Probably I misunderstood, but if you can read that DVD you can take the sound without sound card.
