Need a mouse that works properly, or has drivers for Linux
Running Mint Cinnamon on a Lenovo Ideapad 5. Works flawlessly except for mice (Hate touch pads)
Mice are all jerky and weird - wireless and corded. Even with touch pad OFF.
Anybody know what I can do?
Can fix or do I have to keep buying mic to try?

Just out of curiosity, has this issue occurred with multiple mice, and do they work properly with other machines?

Seriously I haven't ever had a problem with mice since I started using Linux.
Sure, sometimes they don't work as desired and need to be adjusted to my specific needs.
Assuming you're using libinput, show us
for starters.
Frankly, you've been here long enough to know that you need to provide some information.
And also answer the other posters questions.

This will show which Xorg input driver is in use for a given input device...
Code:
grep -i "Using input driver" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
As ondoho mentioned, provide the relevant information.

Some mice are problematic, firmware is sometimes used to run macros so they are identified as both mouse and keyboard.
But the OP seems to have more of a problem with default pointer acceleration profile, rather than hardware device.

Does the bad behavior persist in other DEs besides Cinnamon? You're not limited to one DE in Mint. You may have another, maybe IceWM or XFCE, already available to select from your login screen, but if not, more are easily added if your / filesystem has adequate freespace.

This is specific to your setup, not Linux in general - I've been using Linux with various different mice since 1999.
Sounds like the mouse driver is incompatible - so it is either Mint or Lenovo at fault - not Linux.

Yes, as it was posted in #4: Seriously I haven't ever had a problem with mice since I started using Linux.
In general you can try another usb port, another mice, another os (live CD), another DE, another laptop to narrow it down.
