Need a agere systems HDA modem driver for RHEL5

I installed RHEL5 on my Compaq nc6400 notebook. All is fine and dandy, but drivers for the Agere Systems HDA modem are eluding me. Anyone know where I might find such a driver?

If you can't find one at linmodems.com I don't know where else to look. As I understand Agere used two different chips and one has a linux driver and the other one is useless with linux.

I'm afraid you're right... this modem just isn't going to work with linux (confirmed by HP.) Guess I'll have to go back to a dual boot system and use windows (bletch!) to run the modem.

There are modems that will work that are compatable with laptop computers that aren't expensive. I've been lucky, the distros I am using worked with my two laptops.
