NEC Superscript 1800N connected directly to the router
I have been searching and searching for days how to get this printer to work with linux. Now it is not connected to any computers but directly to the my router via RJ45. I found another post that helped me with my situation but I figured it out. So I would like to share what I have found...
Configuring the NEC 1800N w/ Gnome Printing on Ubuntu Open up Printing Then click on Add a Printer Select Network Printer Drop down to Unix Printer(LPD) Host:192.9.9.9 (whatever the ip address of the printer is on your network) Queue: /printers/queue1 Click Forward Manufacturer select NEC Model: Superscript 1800 Driver: hpijs Then click Apply You should then see SuperScript-1800 Ready Double click that Goto Printer->Properties Print a Test Page Only problem I have with this I have to hit the go button on the printer because it keeps telling load Tray 2 with A4. Hopefully this was helpful... |
