Names of sound cards that will work on suse Leap 42.3.

I would appreciate the names of some sound cards that
will work on Suse Leap 42.3.
I tried one from the YaST2 list but it wouldn't work.
I'm thinking that the card may have to be PCI-e with a
chip set of cmi8768, but not sure.
If you are using suse Leap 42.3 I would like to know the
brand name of the card.
My requirements are for the computer bell to work,
online sound for news and u-tube videos.

The Sound Blaster FX SB1570 PCI-e 5.1
Sound Card will work on Suse Leap 42.3. However,
it didn't produce sound right out of the box.

When setting up the card in YaST2, the card is put into position 0. As of now I cannot get any card in position 0 to work.

Finally after some fooling around I got the card to work.

To get sound:
First, I went into the bios and turned off the option to use AC97 and/or HDMI. Disable sound options on the motherboard.

In Pos 0, I installed 82801JI(ICH10 Family HD Audio Controller) and in Pos 1, I installed the SB1570 card.

Before installing delete all that is in the Suse setup and start by adding the items one at a time. Also I used the Normal set up button for each one.

Use [OK} and close the window. Reopen and test position 1, the sound card, by pressing the [Other]
button and choosing [Volume] option, set volume to max and test from there.

The problem was caused by not going to the bios and not disabling the sound option on the motherboard.

My last card was a no-name PCI card that worked fine with the bios just the way it was, until it died. This card is a PCIe and most likely a different chip set.

Why not look at the kernel modules? There used to be 'soundblaster compatible' cards, but that's faded. Google responds to module queries. Most are supported. What ha\ve you got? I had the CMI8768 in something years ago and it ran fine. Forget the module
