Unhappy n00b with a boot problem

I have a partition for Linux which worked perfectly, but recently I got a new hard drive and added it to my system, not as a primary boot device or anything, just for data...however, somehow in doing so, my boot loader no longer can find Linux, the only thing I have to do is point to whatever the location has changed to (I think) but sadly...no clue what I'm doing Anyone care to help a fellow Linux citizen whose down on his luck?

If you are getting to a bootloader error and you've not installed a bootloader on the master boot record (MBR) of the new hard drive then, as you suggest, you probably just need to change your bootloader config. I'm sure someone can help if you post the name of your bootloader, (eg grub) together with a listing of its config file (eg /boot/grub/menu.lst) and the full error reported by the bootloader at boot.

edit: Oh, and welcome to linux, where we're all noobs at something.

Happy computing,
Chris.
