mythtv won't open tv card

I'm running MythDora on a custom built pc (asus a7n8x-x mobo) with an ATI TV Wonder Pro tv card. Whenever I try to scan the channels in MythTV (mythtv-setup to be more exact)it keeps saying "Failed to open card." I'm pretty sure that the bttv drivers work because when I type dd if=/dev/video0 of=/home/mythtv/test I get the response:
74700+0 records in
74700+0 records out

I set the parameters for bttv using modprobe bttv card=63 tuner=44. my dmesg shows:

ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:01:08.0 disabled
cx2388x v4l2 driver version 0.0.5 loaded

Thanks,
Jake
