Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Mylex hardware raid

Iím running RdHat 9 and I have a mylex DAC960PD-3 (3 channels) on which Iíd like to setup a hardware raid setup. The installation is complete; Iíve built the raid with the daccf utility, Iíve initialized the disks but I canít make a partition.

I logged in as root, try both fdisk and parted on both /dev/rd/c0d0 and /dev/ida/c0d0 but the system always answer: Unable to open /dev/rd/c0d0.

However the kernel is compiled with the dac960.o module and the system seems to recognize the mylex as shown in the dmesg below. The problem seems to be with the 3 ďrd/c0dx: unknown partition tableĒ lines

Here is the interesting part of my DMESG

I've done a lot of search, but I'm not familiar with hardware raid. Someone has any idea?
