Hi,
I'm trying to install Linux with a Mylex dac960p controller.
The system config:
Mainboard: DFI K6BV3+ (Newest bios) with K6-2 400Mhz
Controller: Mylex DAC960P (Newest Firmware 2.73) (D040320-0)
according to Mylex
http://www.mylex.com/pub/kbase/dac-ref.txt
this is an
DAC960P-3
I've installed a system drive on the controller with daccf and I've checked the controllers functionality with dacd.
Everything works well.
When I'm trying to install SuSE 7.2 with floppy disks, i choose to load the dac960 module and it fails - i can't find any error message.
I tried to install Debian 3.0r1 with boot floppy kernel 'compact' that has already builtin the driver. But when it gets to the point where it loads the driver it only says:
DAC960: ***** DAC960 RAID Driver Version 2.2.11 of 11 October 2001 *****
DAC960: Copyright 1998-2001 by Leonard N. Zubkoff <lnz@dandelion.com>
and then it hangs. :-(
As you can see in my system config, I've installed the newest bioses to the bios and the controller, the authors site
http://www.dandelion.com/Linux/DAC960.html
says that the controller with that firmware is supported.
Please help me, thanks
Chris
