My usb spits out messages in stdout!!
My USB is really weird right now, everything works good except a problem with my souncard when I have my USB-webcam connected at startup. However, there are errormessages every 5-30 seconds or so when I switch to text-mode. Saing things like:
usb-uchi.c: interrupt, status 3 frame # (and a frame number) I have an usb-cd-r and a webcam. What is causing these messages?? Why are they displayed brutally on the stdout?? Help me please! |
Messages that are ALERT are usually displayed directly to console. Maybe the web cam and the other uSB devices are in IRQ conflict?
Just a guess.... -NSKL |
I'm thinking that there's no resource conflicts as the usb controller uses 1 IRQ-the devices use the controller's IRQ.Could be a bios setting or the usb driver. What distribution and release ver of linux are you using?

I am using Redhat 7.3 (upgraded from 7.2). It doesn't matter if I have the webcam connected or not, messages still appear!! The messages didn't appear until I upgraded the system, but on the other hand the webcam wasn't installed until then (had to fix a couple of things with hotplug)
