My Second "Data" SSD is read-only??

Linux Mint 20.1

I just booted up my Linux install after installing updates, and suddenly my /media/flexico/Data drive is classed as read-only and I have no idea why! My fstab line for it is:
Code:
"UUID=1EF1637E78A5CFDA /media/flexico/Data   ntfs    defaults,nls=utf8,uid=1000,gid=1000    0   2"
and I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed since I first installed the drive!

NTFS ??

Is it also used with windows?
If it is, then is there a chance that at some time when it was connected to windows the system was hibernated or sleeping while it was connected?
Did you recently update windows to version 21H1?

With the update to windows 10 version 21H1 I had the same issue on my laptop (built in drive) where apparently windows had hibernated at some point I did not know about. Updating the version on windows from 20H2 to 21H1 caused the mount on linux to always be read only since it was seen as an "unsafe condition".

I had to make some changes in the windows config to clear that drive marking and be able to get it back to read - write for mounting with linux.

Oh, that's entirely possible! Yes, I dual-boot with Windows for a few reasons, and the Data partition is shared between the two OS's. I'll try properly shutting Windows down and see what happens...

Welp, it works now! You're right, it must have been something to do with Windows not shutting down normally. Thanks for your help!
