my network card is not being detected

hello to everybody, My name is jerry i am really new to linux, i have a problem with my network card is not being detected? The truth is that id don't even know what kind of network card i have. If would really appreciate some help. thanks

Which distro are you using? You might want to put that in your profile, as people will need to know. Secondly, how do you know the card isn't being detected? Can you post the output of "dmesg" here please (run it in a terminal, without quotes)?
