Anything that u can suggest?
- it could be an USB power problem: try another port if you have ports on the front and back of machine,
- it could be a kernel version problem: try an older kernel version just to test (not recommended for regular operation if connected to a network),
- it could be a chipset problem (ALI and such): try the device on another machine (use rescue CD or KNOPPIX if other machine doesn't run GNU/Linux),
- else try the USB mailing list: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/...inux-usb-users.

All I could come up with, HTH.

I have this same difficulty. I've personally tried different kernels and to get help from manufacturer, but to no avail.
This device is the Sapphire Ivory MP3.
I don't know if anyone knows anything else about it. Hopefully something will come up. Anyone have any ideas?

Workaround

I am leaving this post up as reference for anyone that may come across it that has this MP3 device.
There are a couple possible, but irritating workarounds for this player.
Since I don't want to rewrite the entire post I put on the ubuntu forum,
here you go:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...78#post3380378

Good luck.
