My monitor could not be set at 1024x768 !


I am running RedHat 9.0 on a All in one motherboard, K7S41GX, http://www.asrock.com/product/product_k7s41gx.htm, (including VGA), however,I could not set the monitor to 1024x768, what can I do ?

have you set your VertSync and HorizRefresh options in your /etc/X11/XF86Config? If not just run X -configure as root (make sure your not running X while you do this), then follow the instructions on the screen.

I've followed your instruction. Press [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F1] at the same time and login as root and then type X- Configure, however, it displays a lots of parameters to choose , what shall I do ?

Also, the VertSync and HorizRefresh options have been set in the Installation of Redhat 9.0, is this OK¡@¡H¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@

sorry, it may have been X -Configure, I always forget (note the capital C). Next you need to actually quit X, not just drop down to console, and finally, don't trust RH to do anything for you. RH is not known to be a stable distro, in fact the companies goal is/was to provide bleeding edge software for developers which means not everything is going to work right on every system.
