my Load Average is always 1.0 when processors are idle

Hi,

When I installed my new Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 3.0 last month, the load average was ALWAYS 1.0 when
my processors are Idle. Then when there is activity on the CPU, the load average grows up from there.

Is this the new way of calculating the load average for CPU???

My configuration :
2 x AMD64 (250) on a Tyan 2882 board
4 x SATA disk in RAID1
4 x GB of memory
RHEL AS 3 complete installation

No, I checked for other processes executing at 100%... none with top and ps

Thanks,
Daniel
