piscan enables inquiry and page scanning. Does this device support both? What do iscan and pscan return?

Okay, what does
Code:
hciconfig
return afterwards? BTW, I ran
Code:
hciconfig piscan
as non-root and got the

operation not permitted
error message. When piscan, pscan, iscan work, they report nothing.
