My computer woln't recognize my usb wireless adapter
I am trying to get my computer running a dual boot with win 98 ( ) and Ubuntu ( ) to recognize my 2 wire wireless-g usb adapter. It works in windows, but when I go into the networking setup for ubuntu, the only devises it lists are Ethernet and modem. What do I do
1.You may have to install the linux drivers of your usb adapters. Check if the linux driver came with your product (maybe in a CD bundled within), if not check out the adapters producers (or if you know the chipset the adapter have, its producer) web site for the linux support and driver. If they dont offer any linux driver you may search on the net for a suitable drive starting with adapters name and model. Read what you find similar talks and follow the way to go.
2. If you have the windows driver of the adapters you may use them also installing with the software called ndiswrapper (check if installed already or
download and install)
And mostly first of all there may be many questions, answers etc on similar subject and maybe the same hardware on this site and its forums. So check it out.
