Question multiprocessing in suse

Hi,
I recently installed suse 8.0 on a HP workstation with two intel xeon processors. The system seems to recognize just one CPU. I went to the /proc/cpuinfo file and just one processor is listed. I checked the kernel info and SMP enabled kernel is installed.

Does anyone know if I missed anything. I installed Suse straight out of the box and haven't changed any default settings. I am fairly new to linux so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot !

From:
uname -a
Indeed you have a correct kernel for your dual CPU motherboard.

cat /proc/cpuinfo
It dosn't say that there are two CPUs in /proc/cpuinfo, only one
hhmmm... that's strange.

I hope you don't have error message like SMP motherboard not detected during booting... no? Then you should see something like these in your boot messages:
kernel: Processor #0 ... ACPI ...
kernel: Processor #1 ... ACPI ...

If that doesn't appear I think you miss some ACPI config options ;-)
