Multiple issues with Sound Blaster Audigy2 on openSUSE 13.1.

Running openSUSE 13.1 on a Dell optiplex960 core2 with 3.0ghz. Recently upgraded the sound card from a really basic Creative Labs card 5.1 with a Sound Blaster Audigy2 because of the firewire input. I am able to get output from the "#4" output which also supports headphones . I have plugged an amplified system into "#3 and #4" and still no output. I also have no sound from the "line in" and "microphone" inputs. I have installed multiple mixers (alsa, pusle audio) ,(kmix which wont even start"). I appreciate any help thanks.

Without having personal experience of the Audigy2, Creative aere very driver dependent.
I would read through asound.state, wherever it is hidden to make sure everything is switched on. It's a text file. You can hack it and then run alsactl restore.

Thanks for the reply. I suspect it has something to do with alsa. I tried to reconfigure the card and I got an error about "IO and IRQ parameters"

That's ancient stuff.
In days gone by, pcs couldn't 'find' things or check out even their own hard drives. So drivers were needed to wake devices up, find stuff, and generally do what happens automatically these days.

That's an error from the old days - "You didn't put that card where you said you would put it." Maybe the card is unresponsive.
