Mouse speed setup on SUSE 8.2

how is it possible to setup mouse speed(resolution) on SUSE 8.2.
My problem is that I have to move my mouse 1 meter to go from right side to the left side on the screen.

Assuming you are using KDE, open KDE control centre - Peripherals - Mouse. You can alter the acceleration and other variables there.

1 Meter.... you have a 1 Meter wide monitor? or just a few of them? Anyway, the program KDE feeds to is xset:

xset m 10

is what I use for my 3-head setup, 14 for my laptop with a rather dead eraserhead.
