Unhappy Mouse - Sometimes work and sometimes does'nt

I have recently installed Red Hat Linux 7.2. I have a serial mouse which sometimes works on startup and sometimes does not, freezes. I have been trying to figure out a pattern. All I've figured out is that if the mouse is frozen on startup, runnig the mouse configuration fixes it. Sometimes it just starts working itselves.

This is really annoying, please help me to make it work everytime. Its a microsoft serial mouse!!
